This page is from my draft which I made on 2015. At that timing I had lost my chance to publish it finally.

 Nihon-kai Traverse line is popular name which express for 1,039km of railway line besides Japan sea.

 In this page I picked up my pictures taken mainly in Niigata area. It is well known to ocean view.

 And, it is also famous for its severe winter. Heavy snowfalls and strong wave and wind from Japan Sea.

 

 So many years have passed since I tried to take photos which is close to my image of "Snowy country." And, during this process I had "Findings" about the reality of Snowy country.

 

 The rough waves of Japan Sea with snows are so strong. There are dark, and profound feeling. We can see such a image from building and sceneries.

 And, in this place, those who I could meet at that place are tough persons who are full of love for their province. My prefer way of saying is the feeling of "respect" for the persons who live there with fitting any circumstances and situation in an adaptable way. Perhaps these also have made by this environment.

はじめに

　このページは2015年に作ったものの、ついに出す機会を逸してしまっていた、当時の原稿をもとに作りました。

　その昔より思い描いていた日本の雪国のイメージをカタチにするのには、長い時間が必要でした。また、そこに新しい発見もありました。

​

　暗く重々しい家並みや風景、淡々と背丈を超えるような雪が降り、あるいは日本海からの強い風や波が押し寄せてくる。

　そして、厳しい冬の中で生きているこの場所には、しなやかでたくましく、郷土愛に満ち溢れた人々が多かったように思います。
